Dimitri Otxa

ABOUT ME

Born in Paris in 1980, Dimitri Otxa settled in Montpellier where he lives and works. Since he was young, he has been fascinated by images: first cartoons, which he watches over and over again, then mangas, which he redraws and recomposes from Tokyo bookstores, video games, which he hijacks, and animated films, which he scripts… Well versed in the demands of the visual arts (he graduated from Penninghen), he completed his training with multimedia and 3D production (at Supinfocom) before setting up an animation studio (Kawanimation) where he directed numerous commissioned films and produced original works. At the same time, he develops more personal research that combines traditional and digital techniques. His work has been presented in a personal exhibition at the Yves Klein Archives, in Montpellier at the Saint-Ravy space as well as in numerous collective exhibitions.
